Redefining marriage

Amidst all the sound and fury about same-sex marriage, it’s often hard to find a straight-forward, clear, thoughtful Christian defence of what marriage is. Sandy Grant has had a crack, and a very good one, in this recent public lecture at St Michael’s Wollongong.

As you’ll see from the video, Sandy's goal is two-fold. It's to help Christians understand clearly what the issues are, and why we should be opposed to any legislative redefinition of marriage. But it’s also to provide for non-Christians or others who are in favour of same-sex marriage a helpful explanation of the Christian viewpoint—so that they can understand why we take the view we do, and not simply write us off as bigots and homophobes.

If you want to hear Sandy speak on this topic in person, he is joining me at a Centre for Christian Living event at Moore College in Sydney on August 26. See moore.edu.au/ccl for details.
