Clumsy sermon application often is the result of an individualistic grid.
There is less affection and trust. It’s harder for us to be persuasive to each other and easier for us to misunderstand, annoy or hurt each other. It’s a little easier for them to not want to submit to my instructions, and a little easier for me to be suspicious of a more distant team member.
Jesus experiences the suffering of the psalms, and their hope of blessing is fulfilled in him too. What does that mean for us as Christians?
I find myself saying, “Yes, you can do some more scary and exciting walk-up evangelism… but could you please not do it now?”
