So, you’ve seen our latest resource, You, Me and the Bible. You thought to yourself, “yes, that looks quite good.” You may have even thought of non-Christians you could ask to sit down and read the Bible with you.

But we wanted to show just how versatile this new resource is. We have put together a list of 20 different ways and contexts that You, Me and the Bible can be used.

You, Me and the Bible can be used to:

  1. Explain to other parents at a faith-based school what the school believes.

  2. Follow up new members of your church.

  3. Share the gospel with your next door neighbors or those living in your street.

  4. Help fringe members of your church to understand the gospel.

  5. Follow up guests at an evangelistic event such as a church dinner.

  6. Incorporate the gospel into marriage preparation classes.

  7. Share with those who are homebound or in nursing homes.

  8. Disciple youth at your church or in a community mentorship program.

  9. Share the gospel as part of an outreach program to the needy in your community, such as the homeless or those struggling with addictions.

  10. Explain the gospel to a colleague during lunch hours.

  11. Share with various family members, either to strengthen their faith and understanding or to explain yours.

  12. Help students attending your church’s ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to understand the faith of your church and to practice their English.

  13. Follow up new contacts from a local mission to your neighborhood.

  14. Follow up new members of your home group or Bible study, to understand what they know and believe and to share what the group believes.

  15. Incorporate study of the Bible into baptism or christening classes, either for non-church parents who are baptizing their child or adults looking to be baptized.

  16. Meet with students on university and college campuses.

  17. Help chaplains read and discuss the Bible with those they minister to in hospitals, prisons, schools etc.

  18. Train another Christian in meeting up and discussing the Bible with others.

  19. Share the gospel with other parents at your child’s school, sports team, holiday club etc.

  20. Read and discuss the Bible with a non-Christian friend over coffee.
